EUxFUTURE: From the European Dream to Educational Action
Every year on May 9th, Europe Day reminds us of a key moment in the history of European cooperation: the Schuman Declaration of 1950. Proposed by Robert Schuman, this text was more than a political initiative, it was a vision for a new kind of Europe built on peace, solidarity, and shared progress.
The Schuman Declaration marked the beginning of what we now know as the European Union. Its core idea remains deeply relevant today: Europe cannot be built only through institutions or economic agreements, but through cooperation between people who choose to work together for a common future.
This is where EUxFUTURE comes in. The project carries this founding spirit into the field of non-formal education and youth engagement. It is not only about learning Europe as a concept, but about experiencing it through participation, dialogue, and intercultural cooperation.
As part of the project, we are also developing a collective mural that reflects this idea of Europe in the making. It will be a visual space where memories, values, and future visions come together, inspired by the legacy of the Schuman Declaration and the ongoing construction of a shared European identity.
EUxFUTURE aims to be exactly that: a bridge between history and the future, between the founding values of European peace and the new generations shaping what Europe will become.
