EUxFUTURE Coordination Meeting in Budapest: From Reflection to Creation

On 12–13 February, the EUxFUTURE partnership met in Budapest for a two-day Transnational Project Meeting hosted and organized by Youth Bridges Budapest . The meeting marked an important transition point in the project: looking back at the results of Work Package 1 while actively shaping the next phase of activities under Work Package 2.

The first part of the meeting focused on reflection. After an overview by the coordinating organization AIIJ , each partner briefly presented their WP1 activities and shared experiences from the implementation phase. The discussion went beyond reporting deliverables: partners exchanged practical insights about the video interviews, the photo exhibition elements, local engagement, and lessons learned during the first months. This exchange helped everyone see the bigger picture more clearly and understand how the different pieces fit together.

From there, the focus naturally moves to what comes next. With the introduction of Work Package 2, attention turned to artistic expression and community engagement. The upcoming participatory mural quickly became the central theme of the meeting. AAUTS , as activity leader, presented the initial artistic concept, opening up a rich conversation about which historical moments should be visually represented and how shared European milestones could be translated into a coherent visual language.

One of the most dynamic parts of the meeting was the collaborative workshop session. The group divided into two parallel teams. The local artists (one from each partner country) worked together on visual elements, composition ideas, and symbolic representations for the mural. At the same time, organizational representatives, led by the Italian partner Travelogue , developed the framework for the Cultural mediation activity discussing how to engage local audiences, shape guiding questions, and integrate interactive elements such as quizzes and reflection prompts.

When the two groups came back together, ideas were presented, compared, and gradually combined into a shared direction. The exchange between artistic vision and educational methodology proved particularly valuable. By the end of the session, the partnership had a clearer artistic concept, defined responsibilities, and a concrete timeline for the next steps.

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to project managment and coordination matters. Partners reviewed impact and dissemination plans, internal communication, budget monitoring, quality assurance procedures, and reporting requirements.

Beyond the working sessions, the meeting also offered time for informal exchange. A shared social dinner on Thursday evening created space for relaxed conversations and strengthened the sense of collaboration within the consortium.

The Budapest meeting showed how EUxFUTURE continues to evolve — building on reflection and moving towards creation. The mural development has officially begun, and more updates will follow soon. Stay tuned for news from the local partners as the artistic concepts take shape in each participating country.
